The fact that Gbson’s shucky-darn family guy image was just a cover has been a well-known secret in My Town for years.
What is intriguing is how suddenly all the big Industry movers and shakers are now *publically* taking Three Giant Steps Back from him (and make no mistake, the number of Jewish people wo have that kind of influence within the Industry is not insubstantial). Producers, directors, casting agents, publicists.
Moviegoers might be willing to forgive Gibson, given time, but the Industry has an elephant’s memory, it does.
Just ask Roman Polanski.
